Hey everyone, so it's the month of March and Ones to Watch is well underway, the open evening was really well attended, and I got loads of great photos! This exhibition is probably my biggest to date outside of University, in terms of the space itself and the amount of people that attended. Sunny Bank Mills really went to town on marketing and getting the show out there, so can't say thanks to them enough for that. There were performances by the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, who moved around the space responding to the work (they lingered around mine for quite a while so managed to capture them which was great!) as well as TESTAMENT, a beat boxer from the Guinness Book of Records. I was really quite impressed with the variety of work on show, as well as reading the backgrounds of the artists, some of which are still studying, some recently graduated like me. The biggest highlight for me recently was being informed that I have in fact SOLD one of the two prints I have on display there. The lady herself found my Facebook page and left me a comment on one of my photos, which absolutely made my day! I actually took a photo of her and her partner looking at my work, which is quite funny. I'll try and keep you all updated on happenings regarding awards and so on, the gallery won't be releasing those until the show ends in April, so keeping fingers crossed!
